Idents
Idents are used at the beginning of a film to show clear who produced the film and the type of genre and audience it will be aimed at. They are very simple and need to be memorable and recognisable. Most idents have some significance to their name, for example, Universal Studios with the image of a world in the background and Disney with an outline of their iconic character.
Universal produced films such as 'The Mummy', 'The Bourne Identity' and 'Back to the Future' which are mostly genres of action therefore seeing this ident will immediately connote this. Disney have produced films such as 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Cinderella' and 'The Little Mermaid' which are all children's animations, therefore when seeing this ident an audience will also know the genre immediately.
For our ident we aim to keep it very simple also. We will either use an eye catching approach with bright colours, however this will not fit with conventions of the Thriller genre, therefore we will probably stick to 2 bold colours that stand out and contrast with a simple name and font.
