Editing

Now that we have finished filming we have begun the editing process.
The techniques we have observed in other thrillers that we think worked well and want to use in final cut, are;
  • Time Lapse
  • Blurred edges
  • Removing of frames
  • Black & White lighting- flashbacks
  • Fish eye
  • Tracing
So far we have begun removing frames, and have nearly completed blurring the edges on the chosen shots we wanted the effect on. These were the shots we chose to represent as flashbacks. Once we are done perfecting this effect in final cut, I feel that it will look like a different time period as it will also be in black and white. I hope we make the transitions smooth in areas, as if her insanity is making her drift off, but we also need to aim for the jolting effect as our thriller opening is expected to begin suspenseful and reel the audience in.
We are rotating who edits, but we try to have two people editing whilst the other two members of the group work on the soundtrack and ident as we have limited time in the editing process. We also need to produce titles and include them into final cut.
